About Us
At both practices we have dentists who all have qualifications and interests over and above those simply required to be a dental surgeon meaning we always have the right person to help you.
We have a special relationship with all our patients and take great pleasure in the success of our treatments, with the dentists and nurses enjoying the final results as much as our patients.
We do things differently to any other practice in West Wales, something that means 98% of our patients refer there friends and family to see us and always leave with a smile!
Our Team
Dr. Mark Boulcott qualified from Glasgow University in 1986.
Having spent much of his professional life within the Armed Forces he has worked as a dentist in many practices throughout the World.
In peacetime, he worked treating soldiers and their families either within a single practice or within a large dental centre.
He has a wide range of clinical interests including the treatment of anxious patients using a variety of specialist techniques including hypnotherapy and sedation.
Dr Boulcott passed the Diploma of General Dental Practice subsequently becoming a Member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of The Royal College of Surgeons in 1997.
Implant A Tree
Implant a Tree is our way of helping to give the earth back its bite whilst also helping to fix yours.
For every implant case that we complete at Herbrandston and Narberth Dental Health Practices, we plant a native UK tree right here in Pembrokeshire!
As one of the leading dental practices in West Wales we thought this would be a great way for us to not only promote beautiful smiles but to also help the environment.
This is also the only scheme of its kind within the UK.
We place implants within the practice on a weekly basis, and have been doing sofor the last 15 years.
Animal Therapy
Dr Boulcott has developed a form of 'animal therapy' for the use with some children and nervous patients using the power of small furry animals ('weasels', aka ferrets, pigs or even horses) to encourage relaxation and trust when having treatment.
This may sound far-fetched but the results can be quite amazing!
More recently we have introduced adult patients to our animals for the same reason: the fact that animals engender relaxation and promote trust.
In fact many of our patients, regardless of age, especially enjoy meeting our pigs and horses which can be generally be viewed at leisure to the rear of the lower car park in Herbrandston.
Treatments
Many patients leave their problems, or are totally unaware of any problems until they become much more difficult to fix.
Instead we use regular routine examinations to ensure spot any minor problems and fix them before they develop.
By addressing any issues we find early we help to avoid more complicated and expensive treatments in the future.
This saves you discomfort and money.
By maintaining your oral health with us, we aim to make sure you can keep smiling for years to come.
Additionally oral Cancers are the third most common type of cancer in the UK and is on the rise.

There are a number of factors we look for during an examination and they don't just involve teeth.
Restorative Dentistry
Sometimes, despite best efforts, our smile is not as good as we might like or it has degraded over time.
This can often result in you smiling less, having less confidence at work and with friends or just generally making you unhappy.
Restoring or creating the smile of your dreams is always possible.
Sometimes using complex dentistry but also often through small or subtle changes that may not be nearly as expensive as you might think.
Existing teeth shapes and colours can be repaired or altered by using white fillings.
Teeth Straightening
Have you found yourself disliking the appearance of your teeth and wish you had the chance to have your teeth straightened when you were younger?
With Invisalign, we produce stable, predictable and amazing straight smiles.
The process uses clear orthodontic aligners (invisible dental braces) that are far more comfortable, quicker and can give you straight teeth at any age.
You no longer have to rely on uncomfortable fixed metal braces, with a lengthy treatment process and potentially unstable final results.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth Whitening is not just cosmetic process, it improves your smile and makes you feel more confident about your smile.
People associate a nice white smile with positive opinions about that person.
No one enjoys seeing ugly teeth and the use of teeth whitening is perhaps one of the easiest ways to achieve the lovely white smile you've always wanted.
Tooth Whitening systems can work for everyone, and works particularly well for those with yellow or aging teeth and teeth made yellow through smoking or through diet.
Anxious Patients
Anxiety or fear of the dentist is a perfectly natural and understandable condition.
In fact over a third of people in the UK are anxious or worried when they have to visit the dentist.
Because of the many people do not seek out dental treatment until they are in pain, perhaps the worst time to visit the dentist.
Treatment is then limited, often involving the removal of a tooth.
This may not be seen as particularly nice and so a patient may feel more anxious at their next visit.
This is a horrible cycle that we try to stop.
Dental Implants
Having a missing tooth can have a big impact on how you feel, can make you feel embarrassed and critically, stops you from smiling.
Having a tooth replaced with dental implants allows you to have the best possible smile available.
Dental implants are long lasting, strong and are an excellent solution for replacing your natural teeth.
A single dental implant can support one, or several, missing teeth.
This means that you don't need to have one implant to replace every tooth you are missing.
This is all without damaging or interfering with any other teeth within your mouth.
Sleep Appliances
If you ever find yourself suffering from snoring, sleep apnea or with tooth grinding then there may now be a solution.
Somnowell appliances are state of the art chrome appliances worn in the mouth, that helps to hold your mouth in a comfortable position whilst preventing any disruptive conditions from occurring.
Designed by a clinical consultant with over 30 years of experience, Somnowell anti-snoring and sleep apnoea sleep appliances are tailor-made to your mouth and from medical alloys to provide a lifetime solution to snoring, sleep apnea and teeth grinding.
Dentures
Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into your mouth.
While dentures take some getting used to, and will never feel exactly the same as your natural teeth, today's dentures are natural looking and more comfortable than ever.
With full dentures, a flesh-colored acrylic base fits over your gums which holds in high quality artificial teeth.
The base of the upper denture covers the palate (the roof of your mouth), while that of the lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate your tongue.
